Pop-punk band We The Kings released their self-titled debut album to the acclaim of critics and fans alike in 2007. Containing the Platinum-certified hit-single “Check Yes Juliet,” one of the most iconic songs of the late ’00s pop-punk movement, the album went on to sell over 250,000 copies in the US alone.
The band continued to release music and gain new fans in the years that followed. Follow-up singles like “Heaven Can Wait,” “We’ll Be A Dream” (featuring Demi Lovato), “Say You Like Me,” and “Sad Song” kept We The Kings continuously in the mainstream. They released their 10-year anniversary album, Self-Titled Nostalgia, in 2017 and the corresponding tour, which sold out venues around the world, gave the band a renewed sense of energy as they prepped new music for their latest album, Six, which dropped in 2018.
Pop singer/songwriter Anna Clendening first gained popularity by being one of the most followed people on the now-defunct video sharing service Vine, amassing over 2.5 million online followers.
Shortly after, she made her first major television appearance as a contestant on season 9 of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, where her audition went viral with her bravely describing overcoming crippling anxiety to even appear, and then wowed the judges with a chilling rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” on her acoustic guitar. She released her breakout hit-single “Boys Like You” in 2017, her debut EP Waves earlier this year, and has amassed over 89-million views on YouTube and over 50-million streams on Spotify as of this past March.
The concert is sponsored by the Iowa State University
Student Union Board (SUB), a student-run programming
board that organizes cultural, recreational, educational,
social, and entertainment activities and events throughout
the academic year.
