Artist Spotlight: SNAG

Seth Leopold (a.k.a. “SNAG” or “Smart New Age Guy”) is a turntablist from Des Moines, IA. Seth was first exposed to deejaying at age 14, performing at weddings and local bars. He has since performed 400+ times in 12 years, hitting venues, clubs, and festivals all over the Midwest, alongside acts like Bassnectar, Caspa, G Jones, Sayer, Um.., Eprom, Mystic Grisly, Truth, and more. 

SNAG’s true obsession with turntablism began at age 19, when he got his first set of turntables. After spending countless hours practicing scratch sentences and deejaying his and his friends parties, SNAG took the Iowa EDM scene by storm, quickly establishing his unique style of Hip Hop-infused World Bass. 

SNAG and his wife, Jacy Leopold, are now the co-owners of House of Leopold (HoL), a multi-faceted company in Des Moines, IA, and has joined forces with heavy hitters throughout the state with one goal in mind: throw some ultra-rad parties like this state has never seen, all in the name of love for music! There is an extremely unique energy to a HoL Party on both the EDM and Hip Hop side of things. Combine that with the deep vibes and talent of the HoL DJ/Producer/Hip Hop Artist Family, you won’t find an experience like this on a regular basis anywhere else in the Midwest!

Artist Spotlight: Q.Benzee

Scott Williamson is the up and coming artist known as “Q.Benzee” and is based out of Ames, IA. Scott grew up playing cello / percussion instruments and still continues to write lyrics to possibly be used in the future. The passion for music had always been obvious but the proper conduit for that energy was not. It wasn’t until more recently that Scott first tried his hand at DJ’ing and it was instant love. 

Q.Benzee is a bass music DJ with an eclectic and electric taste. Energy is the name of the game for Q.Benzee as the DJ! 

Variations of EDM, Dubstep, Trap, Hip Hop, and nostalgic themes are blended together perfectly to form a strange but exciting combination. 

Q.Benzee has played multiple events throughout Iowa and Nebraska. The goal is always to make sure that people walk away from a Q.Benzee set with a renewed passion for life. Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect (PLUR) is at the core of it all but headbanging dubstep, trap, and catchy dance music is the real backbone of this operation. Surf through the waves with Q.Benzee because life is a trip and we’re all just along for the ride.

Artist Spotlight: TrisTantric

From the sonic depths of the Earth and far beyond, Tristantric conjures sounds soothing and aggressive to get you moving, feeling, and just get you. Prepare yourself for an experience of electronic music created and curated to reach the ecstatic healing state in which chakras vibrate, sweat pours, and the beat only stops when we're all exhausted. Surrounded by black lights and covered in psychedelic neo shamanic war-paint and sometimes donning masks of animal spirits, a Tristantric performance will take you to the spirit world and back. 

Tristan Clark emerged from the underground punk scene in Fort Dodge, Iowa and has been writing lyrics and songs since middle school when he picked up guitar, piano and percussion before creating songs in rock, hip-hop and electronic genres. After much experimentation and many hours raging on the dance floor, his musical being has coalesced into Tristantric, trippy tribal tunes ranging from heavy to hypnotic to get crowds entranced and moving their feet. Iowa, Nebraska and Colorado have seen his mystic magic in action and he’ll be coming soon to stage near you to get the good vibes flowing. With love for Dubstep, House, Psybass, Techno and much more, a Tristantric set will get you lifted to new dimensions.
