What do get when you put the original lead vocalists from three of the biggest country bands of all time together on one stage at the same time? The answer is The Frontmen of Country. Collectively, the three stars, Larry Stewart of Restless Heart, Ritchie McDonald of Lonestar, and Tim Rushlow formerly of Little Texas will take the U.S. Cellular Grandstand stage at the 2017 Clay County Fair on Monday September 11 at 7:30pm.
“While this will be a great night of country music, there is something bigger that these men stand for,” said Fair Manager Jeremy Parsons. “The Frontmen continue to serve our men and women in uniform with their annual overseas tours. This show will make for a spectacular end to our Veterans Appreciation Day at the Fair, which happens to fall on 9/11 this year.”
Larry Stewart, an American country music icon, is best known for his role as lead singer of the country band Restless Heart. Starting in 1993, Stewart also recorded four solo albums and charted eight singles including a top 5 hit with “Alright Already” on the Billboard chart before reuniting with Restless Heart in 2002. He is the voice you’ve on 14 Top 10 singles and six #1 hits, plus has garnered Grammy, CMA and ACM group of the year awards and nominations.
Richie McDonald has long been one of music’s most accomplished and wide-ranging talents. McDonald is easily recognized as the face and voice of Lonestar, one of country music’s preeminent groups. He is also one of the industry’s most successful songwriters, having penned some of the era’s most memorable songs and earned a mantle full of awards and nominations.
Tim Rushlow has already achieved so much more than most aspiring musician’s dream of accomplishing. Born in Oklahoma and raised in Texas, Rushlow catapulted to fame as lead singer for the country super group, Little Texas. Between 1991 and 1998, the group charted 20 singles on Billboard’s country chart. When the group disbanded, Rushlow embarked on a successful solo career.
This trio, who have over 30 #1 hits combined and more than 30 million records sold, share the stories behind some of their biggest hits.
