Event Description
Over the years, Milligan, NE has had many rock bands play in their auditorium and their outdoor Centennial Garden. This year on Friday June 12, you can literally say that the city of Milligan will be Built on Rock and Roll. Starship with their #1 smash hit "We Built This City" will headline the 33rd Annual June Jubilee, with Jack Russell's Great White and the Forgotten Highway Band opening.

Starship featuring Mickey Thomas - 10:00 PM

Mickey Thomas is the owner of the soaring voice that propelled STARSHIP through the decades of the 80's and 90's. With his soulful and compelling vocals, Mickey has established himself as one of rock music's most recognizable stars.

Mickey made his mark in 1976 as lead vocalist on the mega-hit "Fooled Around and Fell In Love" with the Elvin Bishop Band. in 1979, Mickey joined Jefferson Starship as lead vocalist and helped sing their hits "Miracles", "Count on Me", "Runaway", "With Your Love", "Play on Love", and more. He also helped sing the Jefferson Airplane hits including "White Rabbit", and "Need Somebody to Love". Between Jefferson Starship and Jefferson Airplane, the band had 11 top 20 hits.

Every Starship album since 1979 has gone Gold, Platinum, or Multi-Platinum, featuring 4 of their most recognizable #1 hits with "Jane", "We Built This City", "Sara", and "Nothing is Gonna Stop Us Now". Mickey's stellar voice and video charisma on Starship's video classics such as "We Built This City" and "Sara" have become staples on MTV and VH1. Material covered in Starship's live performance includes hits from Mickey's tenure with Starship, the Elvin Bishop Band, Jefferson Starship, and Jefferson Airplane.

Jack Russell's Great White - 8:00 PM

Opening for Starship will be Jack Russell's Great White. With 7 top 10 songs on the US Rock Chart, Great White hits "Once Bitten Twice Shy", "Rock Me", "Save Your Love", "Call it Rock and Roll", "Sail Away", and more would not be the same without lead singer Jack Russell. In December 2011, Jack Russell's Great White first bared its teeth. Robby Lochner had been with Jack since its inception, and they soon welcomed back longtime bassist and friend Tony Montana - this time as a guitar player and keyboardist. Drummer Dicki Fliszar and bassist Dan McNay were added to the group, and the 5 member band has the bluesy hard rock stomp that made Russell and Montana icons in the first place.

The Forgotten Highway Band - 6:30 PM

The Forgotten Highway Band is an energetic cover band from Minnesota and Wisconsin who have shared the stage with over 100 celebrities and will perform their rock set to get people in the mood for Jack Russell's Great White and Starship.
