Event Description
Join The River Center for a one-of-a-kind evening in Des Moines for food and wine lovers. The evening will start off with select French cuisine prepared and demonstrated by our two French cooking contest winners, Cesar Caillat and Gaspard Franck Re Roumy and Chef restaurant owner Maxime Mickael Ro Terrade, from the Association des Cuisiniers de la Loire, all participating in the exchange program through DMACC’s Iowa Culinary Institute. After the French Chef cooking demonstration, there will be sampling of Iowa’s best pork products from In’t Veld’s Meat Market, Berkwood Farms Baron of Pork and La Quercia Charcuterie, with home butchering supplies from Dupey Equipment. Four fine wines will accompany Iowa’s pork products from Balletto’s Vineyards presented by owner John Balletto and winemaker Anthony Beckman, as well as select desserts from Doré Bakery.

All of this is in celebration of cultural connection, marking our 19th year sponsoring our Sister City regions' top culinary talent for a visit to Des Moines. A portion of the proceeds will also support the work of CultureALL, who are devoted to providing cultural programming in the Des Moines area to further understanding and diversity. 

 


Schedule:

6:00 Welcome Reception with Apertif

7:00 French Chefs presentation with samples

7:30-9-00 Food and Wine stations open.


Parking: Free 2 hours parking validation in Lots A, B & C. Or, all evening parking exit passes available for $5 for those who park in LOT B
