LYNYRD SKYNYRD w/ special guest Ryan Hurd

The Clay County Fair is excited to announce that rock powerhouse Lynyrd Skynyrd will perform in the U.S. Cellular Grandstand onSunday, September 18 at 6:30pm.

"Classic rock fans should be excited to have one of the top-selling acts of all time at the Fair this year," said CCF Manager Jeremy Parsons.  "This show will be a powerful end to the 2016 Fair."

 Lynyrd Skynyrd's legacy began some 41 years ago in Jacksonville, Florida, and was halted for a decade by the 1977 plane crash that killed three band members, including Ronnie Van Zant and Steve Gaines. Since then, the band tragically lost Allen Collins, Leon Wilkeson and Huey Thomasson, yet Lynyrd Skynyrd rocks on with original member Gary Rossington joined by Johnny Van Zant, Rickey Medlock, Mark "Sparky" Matejka, Michael Cartellone, Johnny Colt, Peter Keys, Dale Krantz Rossington and Carol Chase.

With a catalog of over 60 albums, sales beyond 30 million worldwide and their beloved classic American rock anthem "Sweet Home Alabama" having over two million downloaded ringtones, Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Lynyrd Skynyrd remain a cultural icon that appeal to all generations.

Country newcomer Ryan Hurd has had hit songs coming through radio speakers across America since he signed with Universal Music Publishing as a songwriter three years ago. Hurd has written songs that have been recorded by Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Jake Owen, Rascal Flatts, Randy Houser, Darius Rucker, The Cadillac Three, Brothers Osborne and the Swon Brothers.

Hurd celebrated his first No. 1 single as a songwriter in 2015 with the GRAMMY & CMA-nominated duet “Lonely Tonight,” recorded by Blake Shelton and Ashley Monroe. 

Tickets will go on sale Friday, April 29 at 10:00am. Prices are $49 (general admission stage front standing), $39 (reserved Grandstand seating), and $34 (general admission bleacher seating).
