America’s Semiquincentennial! With Iowa Brass

The United States Semiquincentennial will be the 250th anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence. This Washington Iowa celebration will be one of various events leading up to the Declaration’s anniversary on Independence Day, July 4, 2026.

Helping us mark this important milestone, the Iowa Brass will be dedicating half of this performance to Americana and patriotic pieces with all American composers. The remaining half of the program will include contemporary ensemble pieces, ranging from Broadway works, swing, New Orleans jazz and music the band is playing in national competitions.

Iowa Brass is an amateur band which primarily performs brass band literature in the style and tradition of the British brass bands dating back to the early nineteenth century and continuing today. 

Founded in 1985, Iowa Brass is the only band of its kind in the state of Iowa. Iowa Brass plays in concert to audiences throughout the Midwest.
