Hex Girls are a 4-piece rough and tumble rock band from Cedar Falls, Iowa. They sound like Iggy Pop and the Arctic Monkeys bathed in PBR.
Their debut album, “More of That,” is a 9-song barnstormer opening with hard-hitting “God Can’t Count,” and closing with up-tempo single “Bite Outta Life.” Among the songs bridging these numbers are “City of Rain” — a Spoon-inspired track featuring a spoken-word meditation that borders on baptist sermon — and “Highway Gardens,” an ode to time travel and sex in the parking lot of a 1950’s dance hall, told through a pastiche of T. Rex and the Rolling Stones.
Hex Girls was conceived by brothers John and Nick Fisher along with Charlie “Chuck” Patterson, as a rock-roll antidote to the monotonous hum of their humble hometown, Mechanicsville, Iowa. The trio moved to Cedar Falls and teamed up with producer and drummer Ross Klemz, who joined Hex Girls in 2017.
The band is currently prepping for a New Year’s Eve vinyl release of "More of That," out now on all digital platforms. They toured for the initial release of "More of That" in summer of 2018, kicking off with an appearance at 80/35 music festival in Des Moines. Plans are underway for another summer tour in 2019.

The Other Brothers are Eli Clark on guitar, vocals and harmonica, Lorenz Inez on bass, and Jason Kadiwhompus on drums.

Their business card says, “revved up rockabilly blues”—Reverbnation actually ranks them as the #1 Rockabilly band in the World. Bassist Lorenz Inez starts every show announcing the band plays “rock AND roll”. So what is it?

“What is Rock and Roll without the blues?” Eli Clark replied, taking a pensive drag on his cigarette.

“Blues is the lifeblood of rock and roll.” Lorenz interjected, “If people think rock and roll is dead—and these days it seems at the very least on life support— then it’s because it’s lost sight of the blues.”

“Besides,” Jason concluded, “labels are for critics and record companies.”

This is the latest development in a breakout year for The Other Brothers: their latest album, “Born Out Of Tune” was released in April, which led to a string of dates from Lincoln to Chicago, including appearances on Iowa Public Radio, KCWI, and a standing-room only debut at Kansas City’s legendary Westport Saloon.
