Grand Funk Railroad and Blue Öyster Cult

Originating from Flint, Michigan in 1969, this top selling American rock group of the 70’s is “comin’ to your town to help you party it down.” Internationally acclaimed, Grand Funk Railroad’s widespread appeal is evident in its prestigious recording achievements. Over their career, Grand Funk has had 19 charted singles, eight Top 40 hits and two #1 singles (“We’re an American Band” and “Locomotion”). The group has now accumulated 13 gold and 10 platinum records with record sales in excess of 25 million copies sold worldwide.

Since its debut album in 1972, Blue Öyster Cult has occupied a unique place in rock history because it's one of very few hard rock/heavy metal bands to earn both genuine mainstream critical acclaim as well as commercial success. The band is often cited as a major influence by other acts such as Metallica, and BÖC was listed in VH1's countdown of the greatest hard rock bands of all time. BÖC's canon includes three stone-cold classic songs: "(Don't Fear) The Reaper," "Godzilla," and "Burnin' for You."
