Join Don Weiss, an amateur photographer, and author of a 2 volume series on wildflowers of southeastern Iowa on a prairie hike in Lee County.


This is a ten acre sand prairie reconstruction 1/4 mile from the banks of the Mississippi River, owned by Lee County Conservation. Rare plants have been found here, such as goldenthread (Thelesperma megapotamicum). The site offers easy hiking within sight of your car.


Field trips may be subject to adverse weather. Field trip leaders will contact attendees if severe weather is an issue.
