Event Description

Although Dream Catchers are commonly seen as decorative pieces, they have a long and meaningful history in Native American culture. Learn about the origin of this craft and the symbolism of the materials with Winnebago Omaha elder Irma Wilson White. She will show you knotting techniques for your hoop, and how to incorporate a bead and feather of your choice into your design. Discover the cultural significance of this ancient art form to  commemorate Indigenous Peoples’ Day 2021.
Open to ages 18+. All supplies included in class fee.
Monday, October 11, 5:30-6:30pm
ISU$15/Public $20
Registration Notes: A $1 MidwesTix service fee will be applied to each ticket, and a 3% processing fee will be applied to online purchases. ISU price is available for current students, faculty & staff only. Bring your ISU ID to the first class to avoid an upcharge to the public price.
