Chicago Farmer keeps on keepin’ on, creating song cycles that celebrate the heartland of America and its people. Like a modern day Woody Guthrie, the Farmer knows his roots and where he comes from, and he lets the listener know on every one of his albums and at every show he performs that he will never forget that. He is a man who shares that love with anyone who listens.
You can smell the dirt in the fields, hear the wind as it blows across the plains, and see the people that Chicago Farmer sings about. Each track captures a moment in time, whether for a person or a particular place. Imagine if a John Steinbeck short story had been written as a song, and this will give you a fairly good idea as to what the Chicago Farmer accomplishes in his music. –Honest Tune
Frank F. Sidney's Western Bandit Volunteers is a high octane bluegrass/outlaw country band from Galesburg, Illinois. It's a big name, but it's a big band - sporting 7 members.
The genre is all but unique mixing areas of bluegrass, country, americana and rock. It's a high octane blend with songs of whiskey, outlaws, scrapyards and bathsalts (you read that correctly) mixed in with a few well crafted slow songs to make the ladies hug their guys a little tighter.
There are not comparable sets to a FRANK set. (
From a couple traditional fiddle tunes in the first set to a bluegrass'd cover of Ice Ice Baby and Lil' Johns "Get Low" by the 2nd set; The hook hits the crowd, and the beer and whiskey flow free the rest of the night.
The band has played with David Allan Coe, Shooter Jennings, Henhouse Prowlers, Mountain Sprout and many others. We've played River Roots Live, Shoe Fest, Redstone Room, Six Strings and many other venues and festivals throughout the Midwest.
