Big Band BASH 2018

Party like it's 1945!

We're lighting up The Val Air Ballroom with the amazing sound of Bob Weast and his Swinging Big Band! This 17-piece Big Band PLUS the authentic vocal stylings of Gina Gedler will be serving up the greats like Glenn Miller, The Andrews Sisters, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington.

Mollie and Kevin Cooney are back as your hosts for an evening of food, fun and dancing to benefit IRIS - the Iowa Radio Reading Information Service for the Blind. 

SCHEDULE:

6:00 Dinner Buffet, Cash Bar and Wine Pull (Free Dance Lessons and Open Dance)

7:00 Short Program and Dance "Competition" 

There will be 3 heats: Waltz, Cha Cha and Swing. Guests will vote for their favorites with their dollars. The couple that raises the most money wins! Dancers can raise money prior to the BASH to increase their chances. 

ATTIRE: Business to Ballroom. Vintage Dress is encouraged; 1940's, Military, Civilian, Zoot Suits. (Prizes awarded for Best Costume Individual, Best Costume Couple and Best Rosie the Riveter)

Student (Age 13 - 22) = $25.00

Child (Age 12 and under) = Free
