Event Description
Dustin Lynch

Since releasing his platinum debut single, “Cowboys and Angels,” in 2012, Tennessee-native Dustin Lynch has been rapidly making a name for himself in country music. His latest album, Where It’s At, debuted at #1 on the iTunes Country Albums Chart and was fueled by the gold-certified hit title track “Where It’s At (Yep, Yep)” which spent multiple weeks at the top of the country radio charts and has over 15 million streams on Spotify. His second single from the album, “Hell of a Night” is currently top 25 and climbing on the country radio charts.

Having crisscrossed the country for over 137 dates last year with Keith Urban’s Light the Fuse Tour, Lynch is set to bring his dynamic stage show to Iowa State University between dates opening for country superstar Luke Bryan’s 2015 Kick the Dust Up Tour, which kicked off last month.

Lynch has appeared on television shows including Jimmy Kimmel Live, CBS This Morning, Fox & Friends’ All American Summer Concert Series, MTV’s Best of 2012 concert. He was additionally praised in Rolling Stone’s 2013Best of Rock” issuenamed Elle’s “Best New Country Music Artist” of 2013 and tapped as one of PEOPLE Country and Us Weekly’s “2014 Sexiest Men of Country.”

Up-and-coming singer/songwriter Brett Young will open the show. Young’s original songs have been featured on television shows like MTV’s The Real World and E!’s Kourtney and Kim Take New York and he’s shared the stage with notable artists including Mandy Moore, Tyrone Wells, Jason Reeves, Gavin Degraw, Tyler Hilton, Katy Perry, Colbie Caillat and many more. Young recently released his second record, Make Believe, and is currently in the studio working on a third album.

The concert is sponsored by the Iowa State University Student Union Board (SUB), a student-run programming board that organizes cultural, recreational, educational, social, and entertainment activities and events throughout the academic year, and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Student Council, the unifying body between the students of the CALS and the senior administration of that College.
