David Nail

Since his debut, David Nail has made a career singing the sad songs that many contemporary country music artists won’t touch. He’s had hits with singles about cheating (“Let It Rain”), breakups (“Red Light”) and failed dreams (“Turning Home”) and he’s owned every one, singing as if from personal experience. Hailing from Missouri, Nail got his start with the release of I’m About to Come Alive in 2009 and really broke  onto the scene in 2011 with his second studio album The Sound of a Million Dreams and his chart topping single “Let it Rain.”

Following that first hit, Nail spent an inordinate amount of time on tour, giving his entire being to country fans, and nearly burning himself out in the process. He prevailed, however, and recently released his trail-blazing third album, I’m a Fire.

If I’m About to Come Alive was a snapshot of David grasping for the stars and The Sound of a Million Dreams captured him struggling with success, then this new album reflects an artist in control of his craft, a man fulfilled. Having co-written four of the album’s eleven tracks, Nail’s latest efforts includes "Whatever She's Got,” his second #1 single on the Billboard country charts, and the new single "Kiss You Tonight,” co-written by American Idol winner David Cook. 

The concert is co-sponsored by the Iowa State University Student Union Board (SUB), a student-run programming board that organizes cultural, recreational, educational, social, and entertainment events throughout the academic year, and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Student Council, the unifying body between the students of the CALS and the senior administration of that College.
